Welcome! I am your Drill Instructor, [Rank] [Name], and I will be training you to become a Marine.
You have now enrolled yourself in the United States Marine Corps.
However, you are not yet a marine, in order to become a Marine for the United States Marine Corps you have to complete Boot Camp.
From now on, you will address me as Sir/Ma'am. Be sure to stay active, and stay alert.
Do you understand?
Recruits: Yes, Sir/Ma'am!
DRILL INSTRUCTOR: Now get on your feet!
Recruits stands on spot in front of their seat.
DRILL INSTRUCTOR: To show respect to your superiors, you will properly address your superiors, and follow every order given to you. When the highest ranking officer enters the headquarters via the hatch, the Corporal of the Guard (CoG) and the Officer on Deck (OOD) will call an "Attention on Deck!"
At this time you stand up, one spot in front of your seat and stand there silently without turning, moving or talking.
You will remain at attention until the superior officer calls "Carry on," "As you were" or "Rest." At that time, you sit back down and return to your regular duties. If the superior officer calls "At Ease" you will remain standing at attention, but will have the freedom to talk. Attentions may also be called in order to promote someone, or to gain the attention of the headquarters for a bulletin. The proper reply is ALWAYS, "Aye, Aye, Sir/Ma'am!" Is this understood, Recruits?
RECRUITS: Aye, Aye, Sir!/Ma'am!
-Practice Attention Drills-
DRILL INSTRUCTOR: The proper way to address any Officer (CWO2+) in formal situations is to address them by ending your sentence with Sir/Ma'am as you are doing with me now.You are to address any Marine as [Rank] [Name] in situations that are not formal.
Is this understood Recruits?
RECRUITS: Aye, Aye, Sir!/Ma'am!
DRILL INSTRUCTOR: Now listen very carefully! This part is of upmost importance. Keep in mind you WILL be tested on this. Reporting is used for promotions/demotions. An officer will call "Attention on Deck!" then call you to report. Things that you MUST do when an officer calls you to report are: Drop the item in your hand (if you have any), you walk up, face the officer and salute/wave. After he/she salutes back you say the following: "Sir/ma'am, [rank] [name] reporting as ordered, Sir/Ma'am!" Keep in mind this is YOUR name and rank. The Officer will talk. When the officer says, "Dismissed!" You salute him/her, wait for him/her to salute, then return to your place at Attention. Understood, Recruits?
RECRUITS: Aye, Aye, Sir!/Ma'am!
Have them practice reporting.
The United States Marine Corps has three core values. As a Marine you are required to live and breathe these core values. They are: Honor, Courage and Commitment. You can remember these by the acronym HCC. Is this understood?
RECRUITS: Aye, Aye, Sir!/Ma'am!
Change to Pvt uniform. (Tan shirt, tan belt, 2nd row, 5th option blue unpocketed pants, black shoes)
Please change into what I'm wearing now. Please make your mottos:
(USMC) Pvt [TaG] (insert your tag here)
Wait until they finish.
Congratulations! You are now a Marine of the United States Marine Corps. When you return to headquarters your job is to sit in the front row and recruit civilians into the U.S. Marine Corps, as you have just experienced. If someone tells you to "Fill the Front" (FTF), you go sit in the front row and get to work. In the event that you have to go AFK, you will sit in the back row. If you go AFK in the front row you will be subject to punishment. If we are at wartime (currently not at war), you are NOT allowed to enter the enemy's HQ or you will be subject to demotion or possibly fired. When I say "Dismissed," you will report to headquarters by searching Controllable. You will then add that headquarters to your favorites. If you have any questions, please stay and ask otherwise return to HQ by using the navigator NOT the teleporter. Dismissed!
